We are equipped with senses such as sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch that help us to take in the world around us, but perception is the process of becoming aware of things around us in the present moment. Being in the present moment is one of the virtues we can achieve through meditation. Regular meditation can develop the skill of being in the present moment.
